Layout Studies

Here are some wips of layout designs I’m doing for my typography class. The study involves creating the layout on a grid, so that alignment, negative space, and text interaction can be seen more accurately and pushed more interestingly.

This layout involves playing with scale and grayscale with the text. It uses the typeface Raleway.

This layout involves the weight of the text, and uses the typeface Code Pro in both its bold and light variations.

This layout combines two different typefaces, Code Pro and Track, to create a contrasting look to the headline.

These layouts could use improvement in how the headlines are kerned as well as how close they are cropped to the edge of the design (which in my case is a little too close right now)!

That’s all for today!
